The Glendale Public Libraries are now offering a collection of themed Discovery and Exploration Backpacks for families and patrons of all ages! These backpacks feature a variety of books, hiking resources and tools, including trail guides, binoculars, flashlights, telescopes, bug magnifying viewers and more, that can be used to explore the great outdoors at any of Arizona’s many parks and recreational sites, or even in your own backyard! The library is hosting a Writer in Residence who will be onsite to write and provide instruction to aspiring authors. Katrina Shawver is an experienced writer, public speaker and the author of Henry: A Polish Swimmer’s True Story of Friendship from Auschwitz to America, an award-winning biography released in 2017.
